Joey's Story

I’ve spent my whole life by the water — on a boat, off the rocks, or chasing the next big catch. Fishing has always been more than a hobby for me; it’s who I am.

After 15 years working in metal fabrication and welding, I knew I could build something better than the flimsy, frustrating burley pots I’d used for years.

An idea from another fisho sparked the concept, but I redesigned it from the ground up — strengthening it, refining it, and engineering a version that could actually handle real conditions. The result is SmashPot™.

Each SmashPot™ is made from marine-grade stainless steel and built in our workshop on the Mornington Peninsula, VIC. I design, weld and assemble every unit using the same trade standards I’ve used for years, because fishing gear should last — not let you down after a few trips.

SmashPot™ is all about solving the real problems fishos deal with: messy hands, weak cages, constant re-mashing, and wasted time. By combining the burley pot and masher into one heavy-duty unit, burleying becomes cleaner, faster, and a whole lot easier.
